Billingham 445 photo bag
There is no question that this bag with its volume of approx. 10 l - although the second smallest of the Billingham series 5 - can already "pack away" quite a considerable amount of photographic equipment. It measures approx. 430 x 250 x 300 mm on the outside and approx. 400 x 150 x 250 mm on the inside (main compartment). Like all models in this bag series, the Billingham 445 comes without any frills. A sober design, but first-class and solid workmanship in every detail. Made for discerning photographers. As a result, both the Billingham 445 and the entire Billingham Series 5 have made a name for themselves, especially among professional photographers who expect every piece of equipment to be absolutely practical and very robust.

Billingham Series 5 - with optimum padded inserts
Although the length and height of the four models in the Billingham Series 5 vary, the width of the main compartment is always the same at approx. 150 mm (inside). Apart from the fact that this dimension is quite optimal for accommodating most cameras and Lens, these bags have another advantage: the Superflex padded inserts from Billingham. They come in many variations with different compartment sizes and heights - but the basic length of approx. 150 mm is common to all. This means that they fit equally well in every Series 5 (and Series 07) bag. They are important elements for customizing the layout of the photo bags. Every bag in the Billingham 5 series comes with a basic set of Superflex inserts (up to three). Additional or different inserts can be purchased as an option.

Billingham Series 5 - plenty of space, many compartments and perfect protection
A strong 2-way zipper closes the large main compartment of the photo bags. When the zipper is open, a row of teeth can be inserted behind the raised upper edge ("TukTop") of each of the two side wall pads. The advantage is obvious: angular zipper teeth can no longer get in the way when reaching into the bag. In front of the main compartment is a second, but narrower zippered compartment. It also takes up the entire length of the bag and also contains two small, padded compartments for accessories. In front of this narrow zippered compartment, two spacious accessory compartments form the front of the bag, protected together by a long cover flap. Depending on the bag model, they each have a volume of between approx. 0.5 and 1.5 liters. There is also a zippered compartment on the back of the bag, ideal for instructions, passports, travel documents, etc. The large rain flap, typical of Billingham, completely covers the top of each photo bag so that moisture from above cannot harm the bag contents. Whether Billingham 445, 445, 445 or 555 - the space available in each of these photo bags can be significantly increased by adding one or two Billingham DELTA accessory bags.

Billingham series 5 - easy to carry and quick to open
A well thought-out solution to prevent heavily loaded, open bags from swinging or tipping over is the two-part attachment of the length-adjustable shoulder strap. As they are shaped like a "Y" towards the bag, Billingham calls it a delta strap. This strap quickly balances the bags and allows them to fit closer to the body. Whether the rain flap is closed or open, in both situations every Billingham Series 5 bag can also be carried in the hand, which can often be very practical. The bags can be opened and closed quickly and easily thanks to two leather straps, each with a brass button that can be easily pulled or pressed on. And finally, there is a removable, classic shoulder pad SP15 (for strap width 40 mm) or SP20 (for strap width 50 mm). It provides noticeable relief for photographers' shoulders. The new shoulder pad types SP40 and SP50 are optionally available as accessories.
