AstroMaster 102AZ
Bright refracting telescopes with a large field of view are becoming increasingly popular. With this large, powerful 4 inch telescope, observing is a real pleasure. It collects 63% more light than the widely used 80 mm telescopes, and the optics of the very fast f/6 refracting telescope provide bright images.

The specialty of this refracting telescope is large fields of view. With the 25 mm eyepiece, it provides a 1.7 degree field of view, which corresponds to more than three times the diameter of the full moon. This makes the AstroMaster 102 ideal for observing large areas of the sky or nature. This means you always have an overview: Open star clusters in particular look much more aesthetic at low magnification, as you can then still see the surroundings in which they are embedded. Expansive gas nebulae and many galaxies also benefit from the large field of view. Of course, bright comets, which are simply beyond the field of view of many other telescopes, are also a prime object.

The use of an optional fringe killer filter is recommended for planetary observation; however, if you mainly want to observe planets, you should still opt for one of the Maksutov telescopes. The refracting telescope is a deep-sky specialist.

The AstroMaster 102 is not only a wonderful astronomical telescope, but can also be used as a spotting scope for nature observation.

The azimuthal mount is ideal for nature observations, but thanks to the long handle you can also track the telescope precisely at high magnifications for sky observation - almost like tilting binoculars. Thanks to the Amici prism, which provides upright, laterally correct images, this also works very intuitively. And best of all, the telescope is ready for use in minutes - the mount and tripod form a single unit, so all you have to do is set up the tripod and secure the telescope in the dovetail bar with a clamping screw. The eyepiece support plate is simply snapped into the tripod. Then all you have to do is choose an eyepiece and you're ready to go. Disassembly is just as quick.

The AstroMaster telescopes
If you are looking for a versatile telescope for both celestial and terrestrial observation, then the AstroMaster series is the right choice for you. The Amici prism, which is included with the refracting telescopes, provides upright, laterally correct images with every eyepiece.

An AstroMaster not only offers breathtaking views of the moon, Saturn with its ring, Jupiter with its bands and moons, nebulae and star clusters. You can also observe solar activity with an optional solar filter. If you are less interested in the members of the solar system and more in the brighter deep-sky objects such as galaxies and nebulae, we recommend one of the Newtonian reflectors with a larger light-gathering aperture.
