Uncompromising protection against water, shocks, dust and frost.
With features such as uncompromising waterproofness for up to two hours at a depth of up to 14 meters, operation at temperatures as low as -10 °C*, shock resistance that can withstand drops from 1.6 meters and pressure resistance that can withstand forces of 100 kg, this robust camera can be used in almost any conditions. * The battery capacity decreases with the ambient temperature, which reduces the number of images that can be taken.

A robust body for use in tough outdoor conditions.
The WG-80 is suitable for every conceivable condition. It offers functions such as underwater mode for underwater shots or an outdoor view setting that adjusts the brightness of the monitor to the ambient light.

Sharp, high-resolution images with a 5x optical zoom from 28 mm - 140 mm (35 mm equivalent).
The WG-80 is optimized for good image results. It offers a resolution of approx. 16 MP, which is supported by image processing based on "Ultra High Resolution" technology.
The zoom lens with a focal length range of 28 - 140 mm (35 mm equivalent) is designed to match this.

Six LED macro lamps for balanced illumination with brightness control.
Six LED macro lamps are positioned around the Lens to ensure bright, even illumination of the subject at close range and in digital microscope mode. A five-stage intensity adjustment enables a three-dimensional image including the background.

Perfect for commercial use too.
The WG-80 is equipped with a body that is uncompromisingly resistant to water, dust, cold and impact, which is essential for documentation on construction sites, for example. In addition, the six LED lights arranged around the Lens provide good conditions for macro photography.

High image resolution - and many important functions
Sharp, high-resolution images with 5x optical zoom from 28 mm - 140 mm (35 mm equivalent).
The back-illuminated CMOS sensor with a resolution of 16 megapixels (effective) is supported by a powerful image processing engine that ensures low-noise photos with a wide dynamic range, even for perfect paper prints.

Six LED macro lights for balanced lighting at close range.
The shorter the distance in close-up photography, the more difficult it is to illuminate the subject sufficiently. RICOH IMAGING has further perfected this function based on its experience with previous models. Six LED macro lamps are positioned around the lens to ensure bright, even illumination of the subject, at close range and in digital microscope mode. With a maximum illumination intensity that is almost twice as high as that of the previous model and a five-stage intensity adjustment, this LED unit enables the photographer to achieve optimized lighting at close range

Expand your creative horizons with the "Film Simulations" function
With the "Image Tone" function, you can give your images an individual character. There are six options available for this to adapt your motifs to your taste. The new "Cross-development" option allows you to create images with a unique color scheme. This method comes from the time when different developers were used to develop different photo films to create unique colors. In addition, the "Vibrant" style offers rich, bright and vivid colors, while the "Dia Film" option produces the dynamic, high-contrast images required for reversal films. And the film simulation for monotone also offers unique image results.

Full HD video recording
The WG-80 enables Full HD film recording in H.264 recording format. The user can record high-quality, extended video clips (1920 x 1080 pixels, in 16:9 format) at a frame rate of 30 frames per second. The slow motion function (1280 x 720 pixels) and the interval movie function extend the creative applications.
Here, as well as for photo recordings, a special underwater recording mode ensures high recording quality on dives.

A micro HDMI connection (type D) for the simultaneous output of Full HD film clips and sound to external audiovisual devices extends the range of applications.

Everything under control on the 2.7-inch LCD monitor
The WG-80 is equipped with a 2.7-inch LCD monitor in horizontal 16:9 format and approx. 230,000 pixels. The monitor's AR (anti-reflective) coating minimizes distracting glare and reflections, ensuring a sharp, clear image on the screen, even in bright sunlight, as is often the case when shooting outdoors.
It also has practical functions such as the Outdoor View Setting mode, which can be used to set the optimum brightness of the monitor for the respective lighting conditions.

Various functions for adapting to different scenes.
25 scene modes to choose from Choice of scene modes.
The camera offers the right settings for many scenes, e.g. an automatic picture mode that automatically detects the type of scene and selects the appropriate mode, a landscape mode for vivid shots of green trees or blue skies, a surf and snow mode that is suitable for shots in front of brightly lit beaches or in the snow, and a sports mode for shots of fast-moving subjects.

Underwater shooting up to 14 meters deep for up to two hours.
The WG-80 has special shooting modes for underwater photography or video recording. Colors and contrasts are optimized to deliver sharp, lifelike images. This is achieved, among other things, by enhancing red tones that are lost in underwater shots and at the same time effectively compensating for a loss of contrast caused by the scattering of light in the water.

Flash OFF / Flash ON.
In underwater mode, the flash function can be selected so that two pictures are taken in succession with (flash off) and (flash on). This prevents the fish from fleeing after the first shot if the flash is used immediately. The photographer can select the better shot later.

Take impressive macro shots with the improved digital microscope mode.
One of the special features of the WG series is that it allows you to take photos from a distance of just 1 cm, which means you can get much closer to your subject than with an SLR or smartphone camera. With a resolution of 2 MP and a zoom of up to 6.6x, the WG-80 offers amazing results that almost look as if they were taken with a microscope. In addition, the 1.8x optical zoom is available with an image resolution of 4 MP, 5 MP and 12 MP.
The six LED lamps arranged around the Lens ensure optimum light for macro shots, super macro shots and also in digital microscope mode.

Packed with features that make photography fun!
Get creative with digital filters for image post-processing!
Adjust the colors or use special effects to customize your photos.

Capture smiling faces automatically with Smile Capture!
The camera recognizes portrait subjects and automatically releases the shutter when the subject smiles. The camera also detects when the subject blinks and displays the message "Closed eyes have been detected"

Self-portrait assistant
When the camera detects a face in this function, the macro LEDs around the Lens light up to indicate its position in the image. The "Capture Smile" function can also be activated for selfies.

Other functions:
Face detection autofocus and auto exposure for up to 32 faces
Auto tracking AF/AF assist light
Pixel Track SR
Continuous shooting
Burst shooting
Auto bracketing
D-Range (dynamic range) options
Ink filter
Quick movie editing
