Strong autofocus performance
Thanks to the "HLA" linear motor (High-response Linear Actuator), the autofocus of the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DG DN Art is extremely fast, precise and quiet. As a result, the Lens always delivers brilliant results even in demanding assignments, such as low-light conditions or fast-moving subjects. Shooting portraits in particular is easier and more efficient than ever thanks to automatic eye detection and high AF tracking performance!
Clear and high-contrast images
In addition to 14 elements (including 3 aspherical lenses [ASP] and 1 SLD glass element) in 11 groups, the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DG DN Art Sony E-mount is also equipped with Sigma's Super Multi-Layer Coating (SML) and Nano Porous Coating (NPC), which reduce ghosting and chromatic aberrations to a minimum. As a result, all your photos will be crisp and contrasty from the center of the frame to the edges.
Beautiful bokeh
There are 11 aperture blades built into this standard lens, creating a natural, soft bokeh. The aperture can be controlled via the aperture ring, which also includes an aperture ring lock switch and an aperture ring click switch.
Ergonomics and weight of the standard zoom
At just under 11cm in length and 670g in weight, the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 Sony E-mount feels comfortable in the hand and is well balanced when combined with camera body.
Durable, weather-resistant and feature-rich
In addition to dust and splash protection, as well as a water- and oil-repellent coating on the front lens, the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DG DN Art is equipped with many other features. Among them are a wide, rubberized focus ring, the aperture ring mentioned earlier, an associated click switch that can be used to turn the click on and off when selecting the aperture, and a lock switch that can be used to lock the selected aperture. There is also a configurable AFL button. As you would expect from Sigma, this Lens also features a brass bayonet. Thus, the Lens is extremely robust and becomes a long-lasting companion, with which you can fully concentrate on photography even in difficult conditions!

By using state-of-the-art coating processes, ghosting caused by reflections on the sensor surface is successfully eliminated, while at the same time achieving balanced colors and superior optical performance.
Since these Lenses also illuminate the analog film format 24x36mm, their use is also possible on some suitable analog cameras, although we ask you to consult us on a case-by-case basis.

Normally, rays near the edge are refracted more toward the center when passing through a lens than rays near the axis. Therefore, images taken with an uncorrected system may become blurred toward the edge. Aspherical correction of an optical system now corrects numerous aberrations at once. Sharpness is achieved across the entire field of view, distortion is reduced to a minimum, and the Lens can be made smaller and lighter because of our advanced correction methods. Almost all of our Lenses are equipped with at least one aspherical lens element.
