3. First-class manufacturing quality and ease of use with uncompromising attention to detail

Outstanding optical quality and a host of useful features - the ultimate lens for astrophotography from the pioneer of the 20mm F1.4
The F1.4 series represents the SIGMA Art product line, which strives for the highest optical performance and expressive imaging characteristics. Designed for full-frame, the SIGMA 20mm F1.4 DG DN | Art is the version of the SIGMA 20mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art calculated for mirrorless cameras; the only Lens* that combines the wide aperture of F1.4 with an ultra-wide focal length of 20mm. The Lens delivers stunning optical performance and opens up unlimited possibilities for photographers to shoot creatively at wide angles, while remaining absolutely compact.

Its unusually fast F1.4 aperture and stunning sharpness throughout the image circle, even at open aperture, make it the first choice in astrophotography. In nighttime darkness and focused to infinity, the 20mm F1.4 DG DN | Art images stars as clear, precise points of light.

State-of-the-art optical design and the large, highly precise, double-sided aspherical front lens make a front filter thread possible without compromising optical performance or dimensions. Additional convenient features such as a rear filter holder and a number of useful switches expand the creative possibilities and make working with this Lens easier. Its incredible sharpness and large aperture, combined with compact dimensions and clever features, make the SIGMA 20mm F1.4 DG DN | Art the ultimate lens for astrophotography and an ideal companion in challenging shooting situations.
* As an AF lens for mirrorless system cameras covering the image circle of the 35mm format (as of August 2022, according to SIGMA)

1.
Highest optical performance on a new level
The SIGMA 20mm F1.4 DG DN | Art delivers exceptionally detailed results that effortlessly meet even the demanding requirements of professional photography and other high-end applications.
With 17 glass lenses in 15 groups, including two SLD elements, three aspheres and the largest bilateral aspherical glass lens in SIGMA's history to date, the 20mm F1.4 DG DN | Art successfully suppresses various aberrations such as sagittal coma and distortion. As a result, the photographer obtains images with the finest details and outstanding sharpness from the center to the corners. This allows the entire field of view captured by the ultra-wide angle to be used without restriction. This ultimate lens for astrophotography is a culmination of the unparalleled manufacturing technology of SIGMA's sole production facility in Aizu, Japan, and the company's expertise and experience with fast wide-angle lenses, such as the SIGMA 20mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art, the SIGMA 14mm F1.8 DG HSM | Art and the SIGMA 14-24mm F2.8 DG DN | Art.

2.
Designed for perfect results even under the most difficult conditions
SIGMA's special expertise in development and high-precision manufacturing made it possible to build the SIGMA 20mm F1.4 DG DN | Art with a front filter thread despite its large aperture of F1.4 and the very wide angle of view due to its focal length of 20mm. In addition, the Lens also has a rear filter holder, giving photographers the freedom to combine multiple filters.

This allows for an almost unlimited creative potential of extreme wide-angle shots in a wide variety of situations. For example, a front filter can be used to reduce light pollution and a soft-focus filter in the filter holder can be used to create striking photos of night landscapes under a star-studded sky. The new MFL switch (for "Manual Focus Lock") lets you disable the focus ring to concentrate purely on the photo without fear of accidentally adjusting the distance.

To keep lenses from fogging up in the cold of night, you can use a lens warmer, for which SIGMA has provided a special fixture. This way, the warmer stays securely in the correct position on the barrel and cannot cause vignetting. With its brilliant optical performance and wide range of useful features in a compact size and light weight, the SIGMA 20mm F1.4 DG DN | Art is the best choice for photographs of the night sky.

3.
Premium manufacturing quality and ease of use with uncompromising attention to detail

Thanks to its dust- and splash-proof construction*1 and water- and oil-repellent front lens coating, the SIGMA 20mm F1.4 DG DN | Art is suitable for outdoor use at night. Intelligent features such as a focus mode switch, a configurable AFL*2 button and an aperture ring lock switch do the rest to enhance usability. Another switch turns the aperture ring detent on and off, allowing you to switch between tactile and audible click-lock aperture operation and smooth and silent aperture adjustment when shooting video. The rugged lens body is made from a combination of aluminum and TSC (Thermally Stable Composite) plastic material with similar thermal expansion, giving the Lens a sleek, stylish finish. The included tulip-shaped lens hood snaps securely onto the Lens, and its rubberized grip area makes it quick and easy to put on and take off. The SIGMA 20mm F1.4 DG DN | Art is manufactured in Japan with an uncompromising attention to the smallest details, promising photographers high-end results even in the most challenging conditions. Contributing to this are the outstanding optical performance and special manufacturing quality that make the Lens ideally suited for professional applications, as well as perfect ergonomics and the wide range of useful features.
